We are looking for a Community Architect - this position is currently fulfilled.
PROGRAM: Setting Pathways for Inclusive and Resilient Urban Growth of Anjar
Hunnarshala Foundation has partnered with Kutch Mahila Vikas Sangathan and Setu - two other organisations based in Kutch, to implement a program in Anjar city towards empowering the marginalised of the city. This is envisaged to be done in close collaboration with the Anjar municipality. The program will organise the Street Vendors, the Slum dwellers, and the Migrant Workers towards ensuring their social security, housing, vending zones, and that the basic services are provided. A city plan for climate resilience will also be integrated into the Development Plan for the city. Towards this Hunnarshala is building a team, for which you are encouraged to apply. The program will be for five years. All the positions are to be based in Anjar city in Kutch. The required position are as follows -
 
Job Title: Community Architect
The role involves working closely with marginalised communities of the city, including street vendors, slum dwellers, migrant workers and such, using participatory design tools, and to develop appropriate design intervention proposals. The position is based in Anjar, and for three years.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage architectural designs for the marginalised communities of the city.
  2. Work closely with the selected communities to identify their design requirements, and prepare appropriate design briefs using participatory mapping techniques.
  3. Conduct participatory design workshops and consultations with the communities and other stakeholders.
  4. Prepare and present appropriate design solutions to the stakeholders.
  5. Prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), including detailed working drawings, area statements etc.
  6. Coordinate with various technical consultants including engineers, surveyors etc.
  7. Coordinate with relevant government agencies like Area Development Authority, municipality, state level nodal agencies etc.
  8. Report to the program coordinator/director through progress reports, presentations etc.

Qualifications and Skills:
  1. B. Arch degree with atleast one year of experience in site execution.
  2. Good with presentation drawings and physical model-making.
  3. Comfortable in preparing reports in English.

Annual Renumeration: About Rs 3.5 lakhs to Rs 4.5 lakhs (inc. all)
